Council/Strata Management Features

by Admin 11. October 2008 06:21

Our next upcoming additions to Inhabit Street will be the ability to manage your Strata online and we are currently requesting communities to sign up as preferred testers.

Firstly, you can share tasks or to-do lists on line with all of the members of your council/strata.  Each item can be assigned to the relevant person and prioritised, and email notifications can be sent when items are assigned.

Another new feature is managing the minutes of your council/strata meetings.  Each community has a new Minutes section where you can upload your minutes and organise them by year.  The minutes can then be made available, at your choice, to your owners, residents or to the general public.

These features are currently only available to a limited number of communities as preferred testers.  We are currently looking for more preferred communities, so if you would like your community to be added as one of our preferred testing communities, please send us a note.

Amenities Photo Gallery

by Admin 23. September 2008 07:18

As part of promoting your building to new residents and owners, we've added a gallery of photos to show case the amenities of your community.  When non-residents navigate to your community home page, they'll see this scrollable gallery of amenities, and can click each image to view the full photo of that amenity.

Creating a Private Forum for Council Members

by Admin 21. June 2008 16:05

Today we updated the permission management system in Inhabit Street to give you more control over the forums and who can read, write and update them.  This is particularly useful for building management, building councils and/or strata councils as it allows them to create forums for discussions for only their members.

Inhabit Street now provides a set of Roles that users can be assigned to and you can assign various permissions to each Role. The Roles include:

  • Resident
  • Owner
  • Strata Council
  • Moderator
  • Administrator

First, you need to assign users to the Council role.

  1. Login as an Administrator for your community and navigate to the "resident directory" from the building home page.
  2. For every user that you want to add to the Council role, click on the "manage roles" link.
  3. Use the check-boxes to add the user to the Strata Council role, and click save.

Then set the forum permissions for that role:

  1. Login as an Administrator for your community and navigate to the forum you want to restrict access to.
  2. In the forum page, click "administer forum" to navigate to the "edit forum" page.
  3. In the Permissions section, check or uncheck the relevant boxes to restrict access.
  4. For example, to only allow Strata Council members and Administrators to post to a forum, uncheck the "Post" column for all the roles except Strata Council and Administrators.
